The Bocksten man is a body that was found in Sweden, in Varberg Commun in a bog. Because of his oxygen poor location, his body had been remarkably well preserved, which includes his clothes. He was wearing a shirt, tunic, cloak, hose and a hood with liripipe. According do Dr. Albert Sandclef, this is how the pattern of the tunic would have been:

The linen "Bocksten-style" tunic is immensely popular in LARP, SCA, and Dagorhir. It's as comfy as pajamas, but it has perfect range of motion. It looks good on everyone, but it's easy to fit. It's simple to cut, but it uses fabric efficiently. It's the ideal garment, and everyone should have one. But a tunic is only as good as its seam finish.

There I found a 'commercial' paper pattern for the only surviving complete Medieval man's outfit, found in the Bocksten bog in Sweden in 1936. It consisted of a pair of hose with 'socks' attached, a tunic, a hood and a cloak. All recovered garments were made of wool, if any linen garments were worn with them they had been destroyed.

Largely I've been using a pattern that is most famously taken from the Bocksten tunic (14 th cent) but is also heavily featured in Rus' garb and a pattern similar to that used in the Mamluk tunics and the Kern tunic, also heavily used in Rus' garb. The Bocksten Tunic Bocksten is a peat bog in Halland, in the southwest of Sweden. In 1936 the body of Bocksten Man was found there and taken to Varberg Museum.
